Rams ready to seal third Hospitals Cup victory!
Tuesday, 6th May 2008

Ramsbottom United versus Stoneclough

Bolton Hospitals Cup, 2007-08 Final.

Neil Harts Ramsbottom United are set to create a little bit of their own history this coming Friday when they aim to win the Bolton Hospitals Cup for the third consecutive season.

After recent victories over Eagley FC and Tempest United in the previous two finals, the Rams will aim to make it a treble when they take on West Lancs League Division One champions Stoneclough FC.

The Rams have made it through to Fridays final with a convincing 5-0 drubbing of last seasons beaten finalists Tempest United but they found life much tougher against a well organised Turton FC side in the semi-finals.     Indeed, the game went into penalties which the Rams went on to win 5-4 after a fantastic save by keeper John Ogden.

However, Ogden misses this years final after his sending off against Colne in a recent league game and he misses two games.

Hart has been quick to find a replacement and former Rams favourite Simon Marsh has been drafted in to take the number position and many Rams supporters will be impressed with his acquisition, if only for one game!
