Riverside
pitch hit by heavy rain
Tuesday, 22nd January 2008
An
article which appeared in the Bolton Evening News on Tuesday 22nd
January, whilst correct in some places, some of our supporters may
be a little anxious as to where we will perhaps play our remaining
home games.
The
pitch was flooded at the time of the photograph being taken but has
since drained and whilst there are a few patches of water still on
the pitch, it is nowhere near as bad as first seems and until
further notice the upcoming home game against Atherton LR on
Saturday 2nd February is still scheduled to take place at the
Riverside.
We
will keep supporters updated on any changes to our remaining
fixtures.
Below is an extract of the article that appeared in the local paper.
'In Ramsbottom the River Irwell burst its banks and left Ramsbottom
United Football Club looking for a temporary new home. The pitch is
adjacent to the river and yesterday was completely submerged.
Manager Neil Hart said it was a shame after the hard work by ground
staff to get the pitch into a good playing condition in recent
weeks.
Hwe said they now faced looking for an alternative ground.
"If our ground isn't up to scratch we will have to look elsewhere. I
would imagine it is going to be out of action for the forseeable
future," he said..'
