The Rams
chomping at the bit after a week off.
By Nick Jackson
Silsden
v Ramsbottom United, RAMSBOTTOM United's game has
been switched to Silsden to allow the Riverside
pitch to recover from the damage sustained during
their rain-soaked defeat to Squires Gate.
The Yorkshiremen agreed to host the game to prevent
the playing surface cutting up even more than it did
during the ill-fated game on December 29.
Until then it was one of the best in North West
Counties Division One, but according to Rams boss,
Neil Hart, not any more.
advertisementThe Rams were able to exploit a gap in
their fixture programme on Saturday to do some extra
training, and are now keen to get back into
competitive action.
Their last league win was on November 3, and Hart's
men want to notch a confidence-boosting victory. But
it will not be easy against the side in eighth
place.
Hart said: "The lads are chomping at the bit, but
Silsden are a big strong side and we are going to
have to be at our best to beat them."
Meanwhile, Hart's attempts to strengthen the spine
of his own side are continuing, with the acquisition
of a more physical presence in central areas high on
his priority list.
He added: "I am working very hard to bring more
players in as injuries and suspensions start to take
their toll, and although it is central defence and
central midfield I am looking at, I would welcome
any new additions."
